RVA Online Charter School at Stevens Point

RVA

RVA-Stevens Point Consortium

We are happy to share that in May 2019, Rural Virtual Academy (RVA) and the Stevens Point Area Public School District (SPAPSD) formed a consortium to provide *full-time online learning for Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 students residing in the SPAPSD.

If you wish your child to participate in RVA as a full-time student for the 2024-2025 school year, register here to access their form and to be put on their waiting list. When prompted, be sure to indicate your child resides in the Stevens Point school district.  RVA will be in touch with you via email to provide updates on enrollment status.

Stevens Point is an invested partner with RVA. This partnership offers many benefits including:

  • LOCAL SCHOOL PROGRAMMING: RVA students will have access to SPAPSD programming including but not limited to: athletics, academic classes, elective classes, activities, clubs, and other extra- and co-curriculars.
  • SYNCHRONOUS SESSIONS: Available throughout the course for support. Students will be given a specific daily schedule including virtual room assignments to report to during the trial period and/or during times of academic need.
  • PRIORITY LISTED: Students who apply after the initial spring deadline will be moved up on the waiting list, above those students who attend a school that is not partnered with RVA.
  • DEDICATED SPECIAL EDUCATION STAFF: RVA will assign a special education manager to those students being serviced with an IEP. Stevens Point special education staff may also work closely with RVA staff to meet the goals of the IEP.
  • ONLINE LEARNING CENTER: Space is available right here in the OLC at SPASH for full-time students, grades 7-12, to receive face-to-face support.
  • DIGITAL DEVICE AND INTERNET SUPPORT:  RVA is able to provide a digital device and an internet access stipend if needed.
  • STATEWIDE TESTING:  SPAPSD will coordinate and proctor required state assessments within the district.
  • DIPLOMA: RVA students who earn the required 23.5 credits will be granted an RVA - Stevens Point diploma issued by the Stevens Point Area Public School District (SPAPSD).
  • GRADUATION: Students who will receive the RVA - Stevens Point diploma will have the option to attend the RVA graduation ceremony or the SPASH graduation ceremony.

* Grades 7-12: The Stevens Point Area Online Learning Center (OLC) will continue to provide full-time and part-time online learning support for grade 7 - 12 students. So if RVA is at capacity for full-time enrollments for students in grades 7-12 during the school year, the OLC also offers a full-time option with local programming and local teachers but in an asynchronous format. Please visit the other tabs on this OLC website for more information .
