Mountain Biking Club
We Meet:
What we're about!
SPASH Mountain Bike Club is a recognized official club at SPASH. The team has Club status and intends to operate much like other sports at SPASH. As with any sport, joining the team is a serious commitment. Members practice 2 times a week July through October at Standing Rocks County Park. Occasional fun rides on the weekends as time allows around town or on the Green Circle Trail. We are considered a fall sport due to our racing schedule. Many riders also race in the WORS series that runs May through August. The team will complete in Wisconsin High School Cycling races. Races start labor day weekend, ending with State Championships at Trek Trails in Waterloo in October.
The SPASH Mountain Bike Team is a cross-country mountain bike team, a specific form of cycling which is set apart from road riding, downhill racing, dual slalom, trials, BMX, cyclo-cross, and track racing. Cross-country mountain biking includes the broadest range of skills and team members often bring with them backgrounds and skills gained from the other sports. For the greater good of the team and in pursuit of the establishment of high school racing in Wisconsin, this team's activities are focused upon preparing for and racing at high school cross-country mountain biking events around the state.

Why commit?
The SPASH Mountain Bike Team has much to offer:
- As a team we learn skills quickly, receive valuable coaching, and drive each other to achieve.
- We feel that cycling is an ideal sport for people looking to have a life-long healthy activity.
- We set goals and work collaboratively to not only attain these goals, but to also develop a wide range of valuable skills.
- Riding with a team makes training fun, and fosters quick but steady athletic and personal growth. Our goal is for SPASH Mountain Bike Team members to have enjoyable riding experiences and racing success.
