It is almost time to select courses for the 2026-27 school year! Students in the classes of 2027 - 2030 will select courses in January with school counselors.

Business and Computer Science Updates

Introduction to Business - This is simply an expansion of this existing high school course to the 9th grade and will be replacing the current World of Business course. This course and program revision are part of the course sequence and new opportunity that students will have to earn their Associate Degree in Business through Mid-State Technical College at the same time that they complete their high school diploma.

Microsoft Office - Microsoft Office is one of the required courses that students must successfully complete as part of the Associate Degree in Business sequence. Like Introduction to Business, this course would also be offered and accessible to 9th grade students.

Family and Consumer Science Updates

Educational Psychology -Educational Psychology is a new course that provides students who are considering a career in education the opportunity to earn concurrent credit with UWSP (.5 credits at SPASH and 2.0 credits at UWSP). Educational Psychology is the same class as EDUC 381 at UWSP. Please note that students who wish to earn concurrent credit at USP will need to pay an enrollment fee of $115/credit to UWSP.

Music Updates

String Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra - Our orchestra program is experiencing growth and these courses requests support adding a second orchestra course at SPASH. Revisiting our current orchestra course into two sections, each with a specific description and title, allows and supports proper differentiation of music and content to different levels of players. Please note that one of the requests simply revises the current orchestra course into Chamber Orchestra, which will be primarily for juniors and seniors. The new course proposal, String Orchestra, will be the 'new' section of orchestra and will be open to sophomores who have successfully completed a year of orchestra at the junior high level and to any junior or senior who wish to participate in more than one orchestra.
